I studied architecture and was always interested in the intersection between the built environment and the natural world - think blending community gardens into neighborhoods and housing. I learned about the US Green Building Council and their work really clicked for me. I've since developed a passion and specialty in the circular economy and now focus on that aspect of sustainability in the built environment.

Probably not feeling like I'm doing enough. The scope of what needs to be addressed is oh so massive and working within the current system sometimes feels like a drop in the bucket. At the same time, this is my skill set I am able to offer right now and so trying to stay the course and stay focused on who and what I am able to do right now.

Absolutely getting to meet new people and learn about new initiatives. In a leadership role I have the opportunity to talk to teams all over the world and hear about all the incredible work happening throughout the industry. I love being inspired by the work of our teams.

I don't know if it's unpopular, but I take issue with the phrase "climate change" as it has been used to politicize what is really about causing planetary stress to our home. I always think about how we can "rebrand" climate issues to broaden the horizon of how people think about the impact they are having rather than a nebulous idea of the climate changing, which really only captures a small part of the overall impact.
