Our Code of Conduct

Mission Statement: Out in Climate is dedicated to fostering professional connections and creating a safe, inclusive space for LGBTQ+ individuals in the climate and sustainability space. We strive to build a community where everyone can thrive, collaborate, and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.

Our Code of Conduct:

1. Respect & Inclusion

  • All members, volunteers, and participants are expected to treat others with respect and consideration.

  • Harassment, discrimination, or exclusion based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, disability, age, or any other personal characteristic will not be tolerated.

  • We celebrate diversity and aim to create an environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued.

 

2. Safe & Supportive Environment

  • Out in Climate is committed to maintaining a space where individuals feel safe to express themselves.

  • Any form of bullying, intimidation, or offensive behavior, including unwelcome sexual advances, will not be tolerated.

  • Respect personal boundaries and the right to privacy of all individuals.

 

3. Professional Conduct

  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions, both online and in-person.

  • Engage in constructive and respectful dialogue, and be open to diverse perspectives.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential biases or affiliations.

 

4. Confidentiality

  • Respect the confidentiality of personal information and identities shared within the community.

  • Do not disclose any private or sensitive information without explicit consent.

 

5. Accountability

  • All members are accountable for their actions and are expected to uphold the values of Out in Climate.

  • If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this code of conduct, please report it to info@outinclimate.com or speak to an Out in Climate leader.

 

6. Enforcement

  • Violations of this code of conduct will be addressed promptly and fairly.

  • Consequences for violating the code of conduct may include temporary or permanent exclusion from events and activities at the discretion of Out in Climate leadership.
